Hillside Beliefs

We understand the importance of belief and the role it plays in shaping the priorities and destiny of the church. Hillside strives to be biblically grounded and Spirit led. All our beliefs and doctrine are rooted in Scripture.

Hillside is also a member of Ministers Fellowship International (MFI), an international organization that exists to strengthen and support the local church.

Hillside Values

At Hillside, we practice what we call the 5 E's. We value these principles as prospering for the local church and the Body of Christ.

To introduce people to a loving Savior and help them receive

His redeeming grace.

To love and accept people into our church community.

To help people grow spiritually through prayer, worship, and the application of God’s Word.

Mentor members to “do the work of the ministry,” encouraging and supporting the development of gifting and character.

Reach our community and our world for Christ.

Establish churches and missionaries both here and abroad.

OUR History

Hillside Christian Fellowship started in 1999. Bruce and Dori Bannister were sent out by Christian Community Church in San Jose, CA, where they served for twenty years. They felt called to start a church that emphasized personal growth and public service. As Hillside grew, it quickly became a place where people could grow, belong and serve.

We have worked to establish a presence in the community by participating in outreach opportunities within San Benito County. Hillside has partnered with Hazel Hawkins Hospital, the County Jail, Probation, CPS, Youth Alliance and other community services. Since our establishment, Hillside has been a place where "God's Love Changes Lives." Our hope is to be a church that is transparent and relatable; bridging the gap between religion and relationship.

Our journey as a church has been filled with countless stories of miracles, answered prayers and transformed lives. It has been a great joy to watch Hillside become a vibrant, Christ-centered community where people continue to experience healing and growth. We are excited to see what God will do through Hillside in the future!
